Invest in US Partners with Actress Jennifer Garner
This week, Invest in US, in partnership with Save the Children and Jennifer Garner, and the National Women’s Law Center, will be hosting a “Week of Action” focused on building support for home visiting and child care. The Commonweal Foundation encourages you to take action and raise awareness about the importance of early childhood education.
Here are two great ways to get involved:
Save the Children Home Visiting Action
Join Save the Children and Jennifer Garner on February 11 at 8 p.m. ET for an online event that will bring awareness to critical home visiting programs and their effect on breaking the cycle of poverty. The event will screen a segment of the PBS Independent Lens documentary A Path Appears, featuring Save the Children’s home visiting program in West Virginia. Following the segment, there will be a Q&A with Jennifer Garner and a discussion on the fight to protect funding for these crucial home visiting programs. Register for the event today!
NWLC Valentine’s Day of Action
Join the National Women’s Law Center for a Child Care Twitter Storm on February 12 from 2 to 3 p.m. ET. Help urge lawmakers to support young hearts and minds through child care investments by posting tweets and using the hashtag #investinus.
We hope you will join us for what is sure to be an important week in early childhood education. In the meantime, watch and share Jennifer Garner’s Invest in US PSA, which highlights the impact home visiting programs have on strengthening families and laying the foundation for children’s success.
