Bainum Foundation Farm

Bainum Foundation Farm

Our food-security work began in 2015 when the Bainum family donated 263 acres of farmland in Middleburg, Virginia, to the Foundation. This offered us a unique opportunity to directly address food-security challenges in the D.C. metropolitan area. The Farm, a separate entity that works in collaboration with our Food Security Initiative, now grows nearly 40,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables annually. This produce is distributed primarily to households and early learning programs in Wards 7 and 8 through several of our food partners.
